Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between black and white sesame oil?
Black sesame oil is pressed from untoasted black sesame seeds and has a stronger flavour and higher antioxidant content. White sesame oil is milder and more commonly used for cooking.
Can I use this for cooking?
Yes, it is suitable for low to medium heat cooking, salad dressings, and marinades. Avoid deep frying as this destroys the beneficial compounds.
Is this oil safe for babies?
Many families use sesame oil for baby massage — it has a long Ayurvedic tradition. For internal use by infants, consult your paediatrician first.
